Sharing is Caring 🤗

Dear Co-x3 Community,
This week, we'll be focusing on topics related to sharing - in what form is it is truly caring?
Major updates! 🔼
It's been a wonderful week - here are some highlights:
+15 Patreon Supporters! Thank you Diana, Nikolaus, Courtney, Kuku, Madelon, William, Joshua, Amy, Miguel, Edgar, Georgina, Matthijs, Catherine, Lauren, and Zakia. With your support, we can release quality content more regularly, and provide special and customized perks for supporters like you!
Reminder: As a launch bonus, we are offering an exclusive 'super package' for patrons that unlocks one-click duplication for our best templates. This maintains the complex relations between the various databases, offering a seamless experience.
We have a launch goal to hit 100 patrons! Once this goal is met, we'll be able to release interesting and innovative content like this every 2 weeks.
On Feb 4, we held a Notion as a Second Brain virtual meetup with Tiago Forte, Lauren Valdez, and Visa where we shared with over 200 live participants how we organize our lives with notion. It was extremely interesting to explore how everybody thought differently about their productivity workflow. A recording will be coming out soon, and I'll be sure to share it with our community when I get the link.
I went on Notion's weekly office hours hosted by Marie Poulin on Feb 7, to share the thought process and formula breakdown that went into building #theGamificationProject and Be Intentional templates, and how you can do it too. It was a long session, with many thoughtful questions from our ~300 participants, so over the next week, I'll be breaking up important concepts presented and posting it on our youtube channel.
Fun fact - I found out that it was a huge surprise to everyone that it's only been ~4 months since I started using notion! Hopefully, that gives you the motivation and confidence to start building on top of our work!
Super Package Upgrade (2020-Feb-09)
I spent a consecutive 48 hours testing and (hacky) bug fixing the duplication errors that starting throwing up as a result of a notion update this week. I'm happy to say that it's all been fixed, and patrons can now duplicate the package with ease.
#theGamificationProject Upgrade (2020-Feb-09)
Same as above, I noticed duplication was also having issues with public templates - I have resolved it, so now you should have no issues getting my templates into your space. I may have a follow-up update regarding this when notion releases an official, better fix.
This week's honest sharing 💭
Every week, I am deeply honest about important topics.
In this article, I share why giving advice is often regarded as a fool's errand, and how embarking on a content creation journey is an adventure that is both exhilarating yet completely terrifying at the same time.
What I've been resonating with 📚
Constant learning is an important part of your growth journey, and I try to read as much as I can to learn as fast as I can. Every week, I'll share key insights from the best pieces of content I digest.
Quote + Article: "What is truth to one may be disaster to another. I do not see life through your eyes, nor you through mine. If I were to attempt to give you specific advice, it would be too much like the blind leading the blind.” - Hunter S. Thompson's Letter on Finding Your Purpose and Living a Meaningful Life
Advice is best given in fundamentals and taken carefully with context in mind.
Chasing goals is dangerous, and you should instead focus on making your goals improve yourself - fitting your own abilities and desires (eg. concentrate on the areas of your life that you wish to improve, and have your goals service those areas)
You will enjoy your path - without fear of frustrating your potential, fulfilling your identity, and reducing disappointment when the goal may not match your expectations
If you don't choose, someone else will choose for you. And that is giving up one of the most meaningful aspects of life, choice.
Article: Social Capital in Silicon Valley by Alex Danco
Hubs like San Francisco work because of an unwritten social capital
Many people have been burned by upside regret - they dismissed someone, and then they missed the boat. So they're careful to treat everybody that is like them but new, nicely
Social capital is a resource that opens doors and unlocks opportunities based on potential
There exists a fog of war that doesn't allow anybody to see clearly into exact wealth, or potential - meaning that you can acquire just as much attention as the next person due to the unknown unknowns.
Video: Before the Startup by Paul Graham
Starting a startup is like having a kid - doing it too early can mean that you lose the years of your life where you could be creative and learning as much as you can
The best ideas are outliers, side projects never meant to become a business - if they were obvious, great business ideas, they would have been done already
Work on things that interest and stretch you (and you have domain expertise in!), with people you like and respect
To succeed in a startup, be an expert in your users. There is nothing else more important
Things to look forward to 👀

What is one piece of advice that you have not been able to take action on because you haven't considered the context?
